I join well-wishers all over the world in congratulating the newly elected President of the Republic of France, M. Emmanuel Macron, on his decisive victory in the presidential election run-off, held over the weekend.

I am very happy to be here this afternoon for the official launch of this impressive and beautiful edifice, the Kumasi City Mall. It is an important moment in the growth and development of this vibrant city, Oseikrom, and I commend the Chairman, Kofi Sekyere and the other members of the Board of Directors of Delico Kumasi Ltd., for the vision of this construction, the third in the franchise of the company, following the West Hills Mall in Weija, and the Achimota Retail Centre in Achimota, both in Accra.

In three and a half week’s time, on 8th June this year to be precise, a remarkable chapter in Ghana’s legal and judicial history will come to a close. On that day, Her Lordship the Chief Justice, Georgina Theodora Wood, will step down from office into retirement.

The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has indicated that it is his hope that the newly launched Kumasi City Mall will not be a place only for the sale of imported goods, but also for the sale of Ghanaian goods.

The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has stated that it is in the laboratories and workshops of Technical High Schools that students will get the opportunity to expand their imagination, and develop the skills that would equip them for the modern world.
