I am glad to be able to join you for this year’s Internal Audit Conference, being organized under the auspices of the Internal Audit Agency. I note that you have chosen as the theme for the conference, “Leadership and Good Corporate Governance; A key to Effective Public Financial Management.”

I am very delighted to welcome you back to Jubilee House, the seat of the Presidency of our nation. We first gathered here on 19th October, 2017, after I had received several petitions from individual citizens and diverse groups, seeking the creation of several new regions, a process which had obtained the support of the Council of State, expressed to me in its epoch-marking letter of 15th August, 2017.
Last week, on 29th June, 2018, our nation suffered an unexpected, grievous loss – the sudden departure of the immediate past Vice President of the Republic, His Excellency Kwesi Bekoe Amissah Arthur, Vice President for four and a half years, under His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama.
It gives me great pleasure to join you this morning at this impressive campus of Ashesi University for an important milestone in the lives of our young people – hearty congratulations, Class of 2018!
