Government is taking the necessary steps to put in place safeguards to ensure the macro-economic gains made in the last 21 months are not reversed, Vice President Bawumia has disclosed.

The Director of the Centre for Global Finance at the School of African and Oriental Studies (SOAS) at the University of London, has described Ghana’s ongoing efforts to create a digital, formalised economy as a “timely step in the right direction.”

The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Akufo-Addo, on Monday, 22nd October, 2018, commissioned the National Communations Authority’s Computer Emergence Response Team, and the Revenue Assurance and Traffic Monitoring Centre, also known as the “Common Platform“.

The results of the policies and programmes being implemented by the Akufo-Addo government will soon make Ghana a by-word for rapid transformational development in Africa, the Vice President of the Republic, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has indicated.

“It is my sincere desire that we set the tone for Ghana and Sierra Leone to search continually for ways to co-operate, irrespective of who is at the helm of affairs of our respective countries. I have no doubt, however, that, together, the two of us can forge a new, strong partnership for cooperation between our two nations for the mutual benefit of our two peoples.”
