The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, says Ghana’s railway sector, which had been in a state of ruin and disrepair, prior to his assumption of office in January 2017, is being revived and transformed.

“This project has been on the drawing board since 1965. Several attempts have been made to get it off the ground. Five (5) different sod-cuttings have been done, but no actual construction has been done. Today, we are going to see something different. There is going to be a sod-cutting, which will be followed by the construction of the harbour.”
