No room for impunity’ – President Mahama cautions

“I charge you to serve in humility and candour, always remembering that we serve at the pleasure of the Ghanaian people and that our authority emanates from them. We must tolerate their views and work to meet their aspirations,” President John Dramani Mahama said in advice to his recently sworn-in Ministers of State. He added, “modesty and prudence must be the guiding principles upon which you, myself, and our Vice President fashion our governance.” Speaking during the swearing-in of the first batch of Ministers, the President also served a strong notice – “This government will not tolerate arrogance or disrespect for the people who elected us into office.” “The people of Ghana will hold us accountable for the trust they have placed in our hands. It cannot be business as usual. We must be transparent and fair in all our dealings,” he emphasised. President Mahama has indicated that his administration will prioritise public trust, ethical leadership, and direct accountability to the people.
