President Mahama joins Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to celebrate Akwasidae

President John Dramani Mahama, accompanied by the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, on Sunday, January 18, 2025, participated in the first Akwasidae festival of 2025. In his remarks, Mr. Mahama promised to prioritise the completion of the Sewua Hospital and the Afari Military Hospital projects to ease the pressure on the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. “Lately, I have heard you complain about underdevelopment in the Ashanti region, and rightly so because, as you have said, the Ashanti region is the second most populous in Ghana.” President Mahama joins Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to celebrate Akwasidae. “We built roads, markets, schools and many hospitals, some of which we did not complete, and extended electricity and water to many homes. You can count on me,” he assured.
