The commitment of the Akufo-Addo administration to the revamping and expansion of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) is unmatched, Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has declared.
The Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has signalled for work to begin on the construction of Phase One of 32 State of the Art Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) facilities to be built across the country in furtherance of Government’s goal of making Ghana a world-class centre for skills development and also make skills acquisition aspirational for all Ghanaians.
The Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has challenged mining companies operating in Ghana and the entire West African sub-region to work with Governments and regulatory bodies to establish a mining index on local Stock Exchanges to allow both the owners and investors in the minerals to benefit from its exploitation.
The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has commissioned one hundred (100) mercury-free gold processing equipment, commonly referred to as “Gold Katcha”, for use by small-scale miners across the country.
African Central Banks have been urged to partner with the mining sector and build up their gold reserves in order to withstand the headwinds buffeting their economies in the wake of the Covid 19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
